Recently I was reading Shivya Nath’s blog, The Shooting Star, a blogger and traveler I truly, truly admire. Shivya is me with courage and heart, doing the things I only dream of doing. What an inspiration she must be for girls and anyone wanting to take her path. And it makes me wonder, if I inspire anyone.
One gutless, anxious role model up for grabs!
You know, the wonderful thing about being in love with something like travel is that it doesn’t expect you to be anybody but you and anything but curious. (And kind. Let’s not forget kind.) Because there’s a type of travel that’s out there for everybody. And if you can’t take the road less travelled, then you take the one that’s well travelled or the one in between that’s sometimes travelled. Why, you can even pave your own road.
So I wonder, with my sporadic travels and even more random experiences, do you ever find yourself relating when you read my posts? Because as a blogger and a writer and an aspiring traveler, if there’s one thing I want to achieve as all three, it’s that my words strike a chord with at least one person. Could that be you, dear reader?
Although mine is not the type of travel we are all dream of, not even me most of the time, I’d like to think that it at least gets them itching a teensy weensy bit to get up and explore.
Just like the act of passing on a good deed, if Shivya is an inspiration to me to travel more boldly, I hope I’m an inspiration to someone else to just travel. Maybe it could be a kind of chain reaction, till we’re all well-bitted by that pest we all love, the travel bug.
